There are two basic purposes of bikelaneblog: to gather bicyclists’ observations of conditions on streets they know well, and to give bicyclists a way to rank the importance of assorted potential improvements. If successful, the site will be both energize bicyclists to push for improvements and be a resource to those in public agencies wondering what project to undertake next.
The voting part I am still working on; the documenting part I need your help with.
If you have ever thought “this could be designed better,” – even if you don’t know exactly how you would design it – bikelaneblog.com could use your contributions. Just write about the routes you know. Just as bike lanes become exponentially more valuable as they are connected, each bit of information on this blog will become more valuable as it is joined by information relating to more and more of the city.
